We're on W. 41st Street with plenty of free parking. Come in the main entrance and follow the sound of chess clocks — you can't miss us.

Before Your First Visit
The questions we hear most from new players — answered.
Do I need to register or sign up before coming?
Nope. Just show up at the Dragon’s Den any Tuesday between 5:30 and 8:30 PM. There’s no registration, no waiting list, and no paperwork — walk in and find an open board.
How much does it cost to join?
Nothing. Dragon Chess Club is completely free — no membership fee, no drop-in fee, no hidden costs. Chess should be open to everyone.
Do I need to bring my own chess set?
Boards and pieces are available at club nights, so you can come empty-handed. If you have a favorite set or clock, you’re welcome to bring it along too.
Can I bring my kids?
Yes — kids and families are a big part of the club. Students, parents, and retirees all share the same tables, and it’s a great environment for young players to learn from experienced ones.
Do I have to stay the whole evening?
Not at all. Drop in anytime during the 5:30–8:30 PM window and stay for one game or ten. People come and go throughout the night.
